In this new regular series, we will feature digital initiatives and innovations by the ACC that are aligned towards meeting the educational and clinical needs of members. Developed through member engagement and feedback, featured initiatives are geared towards CV professionals at all stages of their career. These resources have made the ACC a trusted source of consumable knowledge that is integrated with the daily activities of the CV team and fully accessible when needed.
Featured Initiatives: Self-Assessment Programs (SAPs)

Collaborative Maintenance Pathway (CMP)
A highlight across ACC’s SAPs is their integration with the Collaborative Maintenance Pathway (CMP) — ACC’s alternative to the traditional 10 year MOC exam, developed in collaboration with ABIM.
  • How CMP Works:
    • Each year, focus on ~20% of your specialty; over a 5-year cycle, your knowledge is refreshed in full.
    • You complete practice questions (score ≥70%) and take a 60-question Performance Assessment.
    • Upon passing, your MOC requirement is extended by one year.
  • Availability: CMP is free for existing broad SAP subscribers (ACCSAP, CathSAP, EP SAP, HF SAP); only ABIM’s MOC fees apply separately.
  • Benefits: Streamlined, bite size annual assessments with CME/MOC built in—a more manageable, continuous learning model.
